CadnaA/R License Types
Typically, there are three different types of licenses available in CadnaA/R. Additional options and standards and guidelines must match the type of license of the product to which they are added. All licenses, irrespective of their type, are restricted to use within the company and the country of the customer.
Single User License (local license)
Local CadnaA/R licenses are protected by a USB hardware key. During the use of CadnaA/R, the hardware USB key must be connected to a USB port on the same physical machine on which the software is installed. For such licenses, CadnaA/R can be used in the local user session of the machine; but it is not possible to run itCadnaA/Rin a remote desktop session.
Network license
Network licenses forCadnaA/Rare protected by a USB network hardware device. The USB network hardware device connects to a USB port on a local licensing server, i.e. a physical machine on the local network on customer premises. Configuration and control of the local licensing server are the responsibility and control of the customer. During use ofCadnaA/Runinterrupted communication from the PC must be ensured (where it is usedCadnaA/R) to the local licensing server via port 1947 (UDP and TCP).
Server license management is centrally controlled by a USB network hardware device and the number of licenses provided is made available for use on the network. These network licenses allow multiple users within a network to use the software at the same time, so the number of users cannot exceed the number of server licenses. The software configuration of all licenses on a USB network hardware device must be identical. Existing licenses into multiple USB server hardware devices is only permitted with the written consent of DataKustik.
The server license is available at a surcharge of 10% relative to the price of the single user license.
Cloud License (Cloud)
The license is activated from the DataKustik Cloud License Server (and not a USB hardware device). During the use of CadnaA/R, the DataKustik Cloud License Server must always be accessible from the client's location. A permanent and uninterrupted Internet connection via port 1947 (UDP and TCP) is therefore mandatory during the use of cloud-licensed CadnaA/R. CadnaA/R Cloud licenses do not require a USB hardware device.
Datakustik is responsible for ensuring that the latest version of CadnaA/R software works reliably under the Cloud license. However, for technical reasons, Cloud licenses can be limited with outdated software versions. Therefore, the cloud license is offered exclusively in combination with:
- software subscription, or
- purchase of software combined with a software maintenance contract,
where software maintenance services include software updates to the latest version of CadnaA/R at no additional cost.
Even under the Cloud license, DataKustik does not have access to customer projects or any data related to the project.
The Cloud license is available at a 20% surcharge relative to the license pricesingle user.
