CadnaR Options

Each CadnaR license is part of a Configuration Base module. However, it can be functionally expanded with a number of options depending on the needs of each project. Details about these will be explained below:

Base Module

Precondition for the use of all CadnaR options. It includes the method of calculating Image source and particles (not in combination). Thefont types are limited to point sources. Any type of obstacle (barrier, box-type obstacle, polymer mesh) is allowed.Calculation of sound pressure levels at single receiver pointsimportation of text files (ASCII format) for geometries, spectra and directivities, CLF import and import from Trimble SketchUp.

VIS Option - Visualization

TheVIS optionadds visualization functions for a deeper understanding of results and for presentation purposes.
  1. Visualization of calculation: 3D calculation rays, particle animation.
  2. Use ofhigh-resolution bitmaps(for example, as design planes).
  3. Importation of 3D objectstextured for presentation purposes.
  4. Vertical mesh and 3D mesh.

CAL Option - Calculation and handling

TheCAL optiongreatly increases CadnaR performance by adding additional calculation methods and more functions.
  1. Additional calculation methods: VDI3760, diffuse field method, hybrid method (image sources + particles).
  2. Includesother types of sources: linear sources, surface sources, box sources.
  3. Calculation and display of the grid of the voxels defining the mesh.
  4. Use ofreceiver chains.
  5. Plot Designerto design custom reports.
  6. Automatic calibration of absorption and dispersion coefficientsto achieve user-defined objective reverb times.
  7. Dosimetric function.
  8. Batch calculation


ORG option - Project organization

With theORG optionthe organization and management of projects of any size is greatly improved.
  1. Grouping of objects (Objectree).
  2. Use of variantsto simulate up to 16 different scenarios within the same project.
  3. Calculation ofpartial levelsto know the contribution of each source in a receiver.
  4. Calculations CUDAusing your NVIDIA graphics card. Improves calculation efficiency.
  5. Importation ofDWG filesandDxf.

AUDIO Option - Reverb time and Psychoacoustic Parameters

TheAUDIO optionis an essential extension for acoustics experts who need to calculate reverb times, speech transmission rate (STI) and other parameters in addition to sound pressure levels.
  1. Auralizationand calculation of acoustic and psychoacoustic parameters of rooms.
  2. Calculation ofimpulsive responsesenergy andecograms.
  3. Calculation of reverb time (T10,T20,T30).
  4. Calculation of the Speech Transmission Index (Sti,Stipa).
  5. Calculation of other parameters such as e.g.Alcons,C80,D50,CisandEdt.


Option T - Reverb time

Theoption Tincorporates selected functions of the AUDIO option for calculating and representing reverb time (T20, T30).
  1. Calculation of reverb time (T20,T30).
  2. Calculation ofenergy impulsive responsess andecograms in receptors.
  3. Mesh calculationfor T20 and T30


OFFICE Option - Offices

TheOFFICE optionincludes a selection of functions of the CAL and ORG options for the management, evaluation and optimization of open offices and offices. It is usually combined with option T (or AUDIO option).
  1. Calculation and evaluation ofreceiver chains.
  2. Horizontal mesh calculation (2D).
  3. Importation ofDWG files.
  4. Grouping of objects (Objectree).
  5. Plot Designerto design custom reports.
  6. Export of complete reports inMS ExcelandMS Word.


SET option - Sound emission and transmission

With theSET optionspectra of acoustic power can be automatically generated from technical parameters of the system of a sound source (e.g. electrical power in kW, volumetric flow at m3/h, etc.).
  1. Generation of frequent sound power spectrafrom the technical parameters of a sound source.
  2. Modeling of complex installations and devices with multiple radiant sound sources, considering transmission between parties.
  3. Set and ready to use data set of approximately150 predefined sound source models(source descriptions).
  4. The dataset can be easily expanded with user-defined sound source models.
